Just fitted my new crankset, cassette, brakes, chain, jockey wheels and other little bits, just need to work out where I stashed my lights from last year and I'm back into it

I'm as fast as this guy

    http://www.mtb-downhill.net/gopro-lo...termaritzburg/

Loic Bruni's 4th place race run at last weekends UCI Downhill World Cup in South Africa.

He rides for the same team as kiwi Sam Blenkinsop who got 6th.

Pretty cool vid I thought the speed these elite riders go is just mind bending

I could manage that with my brakes full on and dragging both feet

Pah he didn't even hit any trees

The name of the game is to hit as many trees as you can & still get across the finish line - they even padded a few for him.

Christened the new shed by building a bike from bits...

Avanti frame, Shimano 105 cranks, SRAM X0 9 speed shifter, Funn brake levers, cyclocross wheels, Fizik seat, Mallet pedals...

The weight bias is a little too much to the rear. A little wheelie off a speed bump/pedestrian crossing nearly had me finding the balance point. Good thing my pants are dark...

Finally got around to replacing the knackered rear A2Z hub last night.

Dead one is an XC one, the new one should be a little more robust as it's a DH hub.

A bit beefier than the old one.

A new XT hub weighs 450g, the a2z DH is 500g, the a2z XC hub is 200g.

15 poe on the XC hub, 16 on the XT, 32 on the DH.

    Should be total overkill...

    Done!

Only a mill or so of vertical runout. I can live with that...

Did 19km out at McLeans island today, part way through the first loop a guy on a road bike with skinny little road tyres comes blasting past us doing a good 5-8 kmh faster than we were

Not sure, one of my clients built an electric full suspension bike.
Doesn't slow down going up Princes Drive. Will clock over 60kph on the flat.

He's now got a slightly more mild one that's actually legal
