hahahaha yeah, looking more like buying another F&*ken set is the way to go, funny i have paid for 3 sets of these in the last 2 years, one never arrived, one blew up and these ones are paper weights....DAMMIOT!

When I built one some time back, I cleaned up and shot peened the rods. It dropped an exhaust valve insert cooling after a dyno session judging from the wreckage.....
When we ran the 500's I did the same with the rods for my motor and Tony's - never broke one and Tony's made well over 80 at the wheel on Nitro. Both pulled over 13 grand.
Preparation is the key.

Yeah that is what we had done to this motor - shot peen and lightened. I would say it was the over rev on the down shift that really hurt it. We also were running the piston to head clearance as tight as it could be....so a bit of stretch may have happened, cause mr piston to smack mr head. We can run lighter gudgeons we were running JE ones which were very heavy. Lastly, a slipper clutch is coming as im rubbish at down shifting.

Doesn't matter what rods you use if you down shift when the engines already over revving from the last shift mate! I would agree with Grumph on that one and repair the cases though. Another product you could use is Bellzona. If anyone at the base has anything to do with a gunsmith then they will have it. Super expensive and super good.

hahaha yeah it was totally me thrashing her fella! A yoyodyne slipper is in the packet keeping the carillos company as they fly over from USA. For the price of a set of cases we will just get a MINT set, possibly keep these damaged ones as spares and do a epoxy fix.

Lastly, a slipper clutch is coming as im rubbish at down shifting.

Slipper clutch and a quick shifter are worth double what you pay for them. They save engines.

Whatever you do, get it milled back so you know its flat. Check distortion while your there.

I think the issue here is some fuckwit thinks it's ok to pry cases apart with a screw driver. It's highly likely that said fuckwit will breed overspring. This is an unacceptable state of affairs.

While Devcon will do the job adequately, I'd check that the cases aren't distorted before you start. If the ham fisted yank has used that much force, there may have been a case screw or two still in - which could have distorted the cases.
Post Devcon, I'd recommend a very light rub on a flat abrasive surface. I use a piece of thick MDF with wet and dry glued to it.

I've personally used Devcon alloy PUTTY and JB Weld for exactly this situation ( only able to blame someone else the once though ! ) and both worked very well.

As Grumph says, take the time to check the cases - I use a thick float glass plate with fine wet n dry taped onto it, kero as lubricant

I like the Sigma stuff. I put one of their Evo slipper clutches in my bike. Most of theirs you can use the standard plates and fibres but the lightweight race ones require different. From the part numbers my CBR600 has VFR800 bits in the clutch. Much better than the standard clutch for racing though.
