    Coro Loop Today

    Evening, SportsFans.
I stayed with my sister in Whangapoua on the Coromandel Peninsula last night, and today after a lovely lunch in Whitianga, we made our way home via the Tairua-Thames road. I was really enjoying the beautiful weather, and the fantastic road, until I came around a blind corner in a series of bends at around 2pm, to see a group of bikers overtaking a couple of cars downhill. The lead one was right in my lane, heeled over, and headed straight for me. If it was not for my braking and swerving left, you Sir, you complete and utter fuckwit, would be DEAD.

It may be lucky that I was not on my VFR but in my new car; if by some chance, you happen to be reading this, Mr FW, yes, it was that black Passat R-Line wagon that you nearly collided with. Thank Mr Bosch for his excellent ABS brakes, and Herr VAG for his wonderfully engineered automobiles, and Signor Pirelli for his very sticky P7 Cinturatos.
My wife was not happy - she would've been devastated had you been splattered, and I would not have been happy had my few months old car been damaged either.

Yes, the Coro Loop is a fantastic ride/drive, but it is not a racetrack or playground, and the basic traffic rules still apply: KEEP LEFT, especially on blind corners. The law is clear: You should not overtake another vehicle where you do not have clear visibility throughout the whole manouevre.
Leave your testes in your wife's handbag, and your bravado on the dresser, or save it for the track.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

It wasn't the only piece of motorcycling overtaking fuckwittery I observed on the road, but it was the most near-death one. Had my car been a truck, the road toll would have been up by 1 at least (although his fuckwit mates were a few metres further back and popped back onto their side of the road in time).

wow so you had to move your little feet to push the brake pedal and you also had to turn the steering wheel! I feel sorry for you and I offer my apologies in the name of all the motorcycling community of the universe. We should work together to straighten all the roads so that you won't have to do that anymore.
    I'm so sorry. sorry.

Did you have to get someone to read the post for you, and translate it into Neanderthal? But I accept your apology for being such a sorry individual.

Actually, I'm from Rotorua, Canberra, Hamilton, Christchurch, Tauranga and Birkenhead. I may live in Auckland at the moment, but still don't feel like one.
Now be a good peripatus and crawl back under your rock.
