I was the one who said most scientists agree. Wihtin thesew articles I found at least two comments that we would see the death of coral reefs by the end of this century for example.

I will go back over my archives for more specific quotes.

Natalie is a scientist and her references are clearly given.

Porter is a UGA Ecologist who has been researching the oceans since at least 1975 and lead a tem of 7 scientists.

That's getting better, but still didn't see any journal articles in there. With an issue this big, if there are findings, there will be journal articles. Those websites only had a bibliography, no citations I could see, and couldn't see any figures to support your earlier post either.

It's human nature not to want to piss around trying to verify findings or claims of others, but it is also human nature to be skeptical of the claims of others. So I dare say it is this human's nature that I'll read one page at any one level to verify another's claims. Ie, make statement, provide reference, I'll read the first page or the page which is referenced, which is either the abstract, or relevant paragraph, then decide if it is worth reading around that, and possibly also check articles that work has referenced.

Under "What Does the Future Hold?"

"The “business as usual” scenario for humanity’s Ecological
Footprint shows more and more pressure being placed on the
planet. By 2050 humanity would require an equivalent of 2.9
planets to support the “business as usual” assumptions (Figure 54)."

232 Million Hectares of forest will dissappear by 2050.

So what, now you're going to just spam exerpts from and links to doomsday articles/blogs with no context at all? I don't think you quite understand the whole referencing and citing point of things. This was supposed to be a thread about the interesting empathic nature of humans, and I fear we have got well off track by the much less interesting Ed trolling.

Edit: in fact if a mod could PD posts 4 through this one that would be great...

Not at all. If you read through, these are specific articles with very real statements that are supported by the scientific studies I've already posted.

Notice how many are referring to the year 2050? These are not MY articles and not written and published by me. They are factual and verifiable. If you don't like it, tough...

Well, now we've cleared that up, we can get the thread back on topic.

If you really want to discuss climate change, start a new thread and/or get a mod to move this stuff.

    He's right though.

Anybody over 50 years old that can remember what this country looked like when they were a kid knows we are now FUCKED.

And as for what we've done in the last two hundred years,,,we're even more fucked if we repeat that shit.

    Our industry is killing us.

No need for research or proof,,,you can just see it happening.
