Better still drop behind the surf at Piha and don't let the guys and girls go out, problem solved!
I agree, excpet I'd give em all a lead injection, the same day but for some surfers who risked their lives they nearly lost another 2 swimmers who'd gotten into trouble because they could not get their gear to the beach in time.

Glad you're finally coming around... although I'd hardly call a high rollin thief average, they're usually quite smart. Much like many bludgers. Although if you;re using average in a per capita sense, then you're cheating and should be using average value.
mashman, is your thinking along the lines that only those who need to will be the ones putting out their hands? I'm sure the whole social welfare system was originally based on the basis of giving assistance to those who most desperately needed it; but funnily enough has snow balled to every tom dick and harry thinking that they may as well jump on the hand out band wagon as well when they don't reeeeeeaaaaaallllly need to be (but it's an excellent rort!)

Honest hardworking folk get pretty pissed off seeing bludgers getting a better deal than them and I, for one, can't help but feel a twinge of resentment that my kids have to work their arses off for their education and work training while drop kicks get it for free in the slammer etc. Can't blame ordinary Joe Taxpayer for feeling a bit hard done by and wondering if mebbe the hold-my-hand-out-and-cry-poor tactic looks just a weeny bit attractive instead of their "honest but difficult" attempt to get ahead in life. Couldn't do it myself, but there are plenty who would think "why not?"

My "thinking" is that hand-outs are inevitable where there aren't enough jobs and/or too many jobs are underpaid to allow for a medium standard of "living". These guys aren't doing anything illegal, well some are, and neither are those who cream huge profits and minimise tax liability. Essentially what is there is there and the system is setup to work that way for better or worse. WFF is a bad joke. I know of people who get it that shouldn't. They earn enough, have rentals etc... yet can write off so many deductions they fall into the bracket for assistance. The rules are fucked, but they're the rules. I have no doubt that it is needed in many many cases, but there are those, as you pointed out, that don't need the assistance. The reason it is needed is simply because the cost of living is too high to attain a reasonable standard of living... otherwise why would such a "payment" exist? Suck it up is about all we can really say.

I used to begrudge the "bludger" such a luxury to an extent. But that was selective on the person. So worked harder than I did, they just earned a little extra off the state and kept their own hours. However there were the minority who lived up to the stereotype. They exist and unless society is willing to shoot them, the system will be the system. I work hard, they claim and thieve and shag and get pissed and stoned all day, none of them are innocent, they're all scamming the system yadda yadda yadda. I've simply changed my mind about their reality. There aren't enough jobs. I'd rather the drop-kicks didn't take the few jobs that are available. You gotta give them something to stop them from taking that which others have "earned". It'll never change and it is designed not to change. Screw the little guy whilst the big guys squirrel trillions in offshore accounts. Most people refuse to accept the reality and I get why, but it's a pointless fight where the unemployed are used as a kick-me political barter chip as it only makes things worse and drivers more towards the poverty line, especially in recession. I hate you because you're on the dole and are getting free stuff and my politicians are gonna get you. Aye, I just don't see the genius in that approach anymore.

Wait for the ATM beggar to arrive. Strategically placed beside the atm, to see you enter a pin, sitting on a blanky with a hat in front.

We have them around here, they will spread. proximity to the atm is an evolutionary strength

I always like to give them a little something if I have it. Those packets of hotel/motel soap are ideal.
