Yip,You got it,Encouragement when its deserved and the competitor is/has shown a vast improvement is earned,

Smoke blowing is as I stated earlier,Telling someone theyre fast, when theyre a couple of secs off the pace for the said class.

Be very interesting to see who learned anything from Luke when the season kicks off next year,I know of 2 that most definitely have,How many of the rest will turn up and just try to match him without making significant change???

People are different, some need to be boosted and tell them they are the man. Generally speaking the more successful one's just get down to work and get it done.
I understand what you are saying. Not sure what Billy means exactly. Some riders will be better than others, some will learn from experience or coaching, others may hit the brick wall of talent or confidence. The suggestion that any rider who is off the pace should go home and stay home is bollocks. The sport needs riders of all calibres or it dies. This winter series entries are looking pretty sick. 3 guy's racing for 7th place are as important to the sport as the winner.

What planet are you on now Gasman???

Where did I suggest anybody should give up or go home cause theyre off the pace?????Absolutelty they should stay out there and learn whatever they can,Somedays you just get to suck it up no matter how bad it gets,Thats how life is !!!!

The comment I made was in regard to those specifically learning to get to that top step and I stand by my statement,You won't get them there by lying to them,Encouragement when they show improvement is what is required,Not bullshit!!

Tell the kid to go to university, that way he's got at least 20% chance of earning a decent living.

Not really, but I guess you are suggesting I'm one of the smoke blowers.

    Nooooow who's talkin shit?

In New Zealand, (and it pains me to say this), motorcycle racing is a hobby. Our bikes are toys, and we are merely playing.

We haven't exported a world champion road racer since before I was born. Lets qualify that further. Mr Bugden has won our national points series three (I think, might be two) times...He has never won a single superbike race in Australia.

I know I'm being a dick, and that kid pictured could wipe the floor with me on a race track, but lets not suggest the lad is going anywhere at all, untill he can lap every one of our tracks under the lap0 record. Because truth is, he is going no where in the sport if ha can't do that with ease.

Jamie, I reckon you and yours are fuckin tops. All you do for so many people is amazing, I just get grumpy sometimes for no reason and this thread has pushed buttons.
