Following on from the other thread this is the place to list your local good pie maker.

I'll start the ball rolling with a list of the winners from last years pie awards. This ia a good competition and produces some outstanding entries (plus its on again this month)

Sadly closed down but for years in Hawera Frasers Cake Shop,recipe handed down over the years,and to new owners.

For the mass produced in Taranaki my pick Andersons Pies.

I know it was a cheap shot but I'm too weak to resist.

I can feel a Pie Run comming on. Plenty of sampling to work our way through this list.

Jimmy's Pies in Roxburgh are pretty good. When I'm down that way I make a point of sending my kids a photo of a half eaten Jimmy's Pie.

Steve Hotton, ex all black has a bakery in Kurow he makes a mean pie, i thinks its called Cafe Moke

When we moved to NZ and lived in Mt Wellington, there was this great bakery in Pakuranga, that made the best ever mince & cheese pies.

Run by some Chinese folk, I have never tasted better.
