@ 150KPH, how far can you travel in ONE minute on your bike ?
and could you sustain this speed for 5 minutes at night on a NZ road?
    Now think
Johnny Can Do No Wrong, in his $1 deposit Subaru WRX on his learners license, with 3 mths driving experience....
Full of adrenaline, testosterone, let alone any alcohol or meth, with Suzie Eazy Spread beside him, and Peter A Dork in the back,
Goes through a red light....bugger...cops....if he stops will loose license have to walk...
He wants Suzie Easy Spread tonight, his ego tells him he is a good enough driver of his WRX Subaru Twin Turbos lowered coffin ..
So does a runner,........cops see he is not going to stop.......call off chase?

Johnny Can Do No Wrong, in his $1 deposit Subaru WRX on his learners license, with 3 mths driving experience....does not know this,
Foot flat to the floor.......3 min max survival time IF he knows what he is doing on city streets!!
180kph+ = News report of death.

Conspiracy? No , Police hiding the truth? I dont think so......the result of why our licensing system and enforcement are crap? Yes!
Cool story...Got a number for this, "Suzie"?

"Number no longer in service" ...

But the wheelchair slows her down a bit.

Only having one leg reduces the need to spread as much.

The scars on her face are a little hard to stomach ... but in the dark ... it's not an issue.

Still ... all things considered ... she could be worse off ...

As long as they don't kill any innocent people, I couldn't give a shit if they die. Three less scumbags to pay for out of our taxes, as far as I'm concerned.

The day Police are told not to pursue at all will be a victory for criminals.

The inference that Police are at fault in these pursuits is a joke, if the little asshole didn't break the law he'd be alive. Cue "he was such a nice guy" from his family and friends.

The pursuits are abandoned because of the level of danger. A crash afterwards merely means that yep, the cops were right. Too dangerous to continue.

If they just came out & said "yep being idiots they ran, we chased for 20mins then the morons crashed" then no prob.
You get this sort thing in surf life saving. someone has their arm up for help and when the boat turns up they sink as they think the danger has passed and relax and so sink.
Same sort of thing here suddenly they get away, police back off, they relax and spend more time looking behind.

With the cops chasing ... two (or more) speeding cars are on the road ... call off the chase and only one is.

Those that run and get away with it ... will try it again. Those that try it and don't get away ... usually don't try it again ...

Moral to those that want to try .... are you feeling lucky .. ??

Young guy down here that worked for me used to do exactly that, he died in a car crash last year so maybe his driving wasn't as good as he thought (wasn't being chased at the time)

Three less boi racers in the world.

I don't see the problem, I really don't. Suddenly the roads are just a little safer for the rest of us.

Problem is that just as often it is Mr. or Mrs. innocent that gets hit in the process. If they only maimed and killed themselves that is fair.

Something else that is unmentioned is that usually the passengers are begging the driver to stop.

In this case they just hurt themselves.

If you hop into a boy racers car then you are a boi racer.

Sounds like they were baiting the rozza to chase them.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if what scuba Steve said is true atleast some of the time (cops see crash, call in abandon pursuit, wait a minute then call in the crash) but I really wouldn't be too concerned about it either.

The fact remains that they ran (and probably did something else illegal to make it necessary to run in the first place) and it was them that crashed so the cops are in no way at fault.
    No sympathy here.

What defines a boy racer? Would you just not get in any turbo Subaru? I own an early 80s Toyota (lowered, expensive wheels, exhaust, etc..), does that make me a boy racer?
