And sadly, there are ALOT of these boy racer "weapons" all over canterbury now...most are matt black, dented peices of crap with huge ram bars and kids hanging out the windows trying to look threatening!

My partner's little brother hangs around with the boy racer crowd, and he painted an ugly picture for me a while back...he confirmed! that 4x4's are being snapped up by boyracers purely for intimidation reasons!...to "back up" there mates, and to be used as a RAM vehicle!!...either on rival boy racers & there cars...or the police!!(WTF!!)...and ANYONE ELSE! that gets in there way or deserves it??

(those were the words his group used)

We had this converstion over a month ago....at the time, I told him he was full of shit!, and that NO-ONE would be THAT stupid or callous!

...well fuck me was I wrong! (what the HELL is wrong with kids nowdays??)

ps...you want proof?...just go to kaipoi on a friday/sat night!!...some weekends its like a mad max gathering with angry kids!

Yeah - grew up there and have really noticed a difference last few times we have been back home. Maybe I'm just getting older and more conservative or 'scared'. Damned if I know.

Last time we were there we went to a local pub for a meal with the rellies. There were shit loads of underage wankers hanging around outside as we left in POS cars. (no really - not flash boy racer cars just wannabee piles of shit). As we walked back to the car one sad desperate fuck showed me his knife. (deliberately by pulling back his jacket) God knows why.... I was a little tiddly as I was not the sober driver but I asked him if he would like me to shove it up his arse... He thought about it for a bit and then looked at me - and then thought about it and took off.... I admit we left before he could come back with his mates but I mean wtf? Why would you do that in a crowded car park?????

Idiot...

Anyway - its a funny old place and not made any happier since the quakes....

Crazy escalation mentality. Years ago the car nuts used to have their fast fours and rotary type shows, then boy racers become the fashion and the witch hunt victims, then some bright spark decides "lets hassle these "boy racers" at the car show" of course picking on a lot of car nuts as well. The boy racers react by giving TPTB the virtual finger, TPTB of course try to crack down harder and now it has spin out into a kind of gang warfare. FFS the new "bikie gangs" in the making.

and once they get established TPTB will be just as powerless against them.

Yeah .. I'd be tempted to reach for a shotgun (I used to have a gun rack in the back of my Ute .. very Good Ol' Boy stuff) .. and shoot .. a claim of self defense wiild probably stand up ... "They were trying to kill me officer ..."

Because I often go target shooting/hunting and you note I had it stored unloaded, The people attacking me had full warning as I had to load my fire arm and told them I would use force if need be.

I have a range of ammo types depending on the type of shooting I do, and in my scared state I accidentally loaded buck shot instead of the shells with rock salt.

Or something to that effect would probably work espically if you showed remorse
