Dry, warm, safe and comfy boots?

With the beginning of the cold weather I realised I need new boots, too. My stupid ‘waterproof’ Teknik boots are not waterproof (nor warm, or safe…) and are falling apart already. Ideally I’d want boots that keep me dry and warm and are safe and comfy at the same time. But not sure if my expectations are too high with wanting one pair of boots that fulfils all of those points. I’m having my eye on some nice Sidi Cobra Gore Tex. Not sure about the warm and comfy bit for those boots though. Does anyone have any other ideas? (Aside of the one with the plastic bag inside the boots )

I can say Sidi boots are the shizz, my last pair lasted me 10 years and are still doing light duties. Mine weren't Goretex (coz it wasn't around when I bought them) but I've never had really wet feet in them. Try a few on and see which boots fit best. Any of the "big" brands should do what it says on the box and last pretty well. I would look at Gaerne, TCX, RST, as well for a start.

Gore-Tex is the key word, I have it said time and time again. I have had my current boots for nine years...they are waterproof. Oxtar Boots.
Over the years, I have replaced every bit of gear multiple times but only ever, the one pair of boots.
It has taken me nine years to finally acquire the gear that I will ever need......until I see something else

    Sidi FTW.

Unless your feet are the wrong shape (and it will be your feet, not the boots), Sidi are hard to beat. My commuter boots are Sidi Jungle Tepor (not Goretex). Cost me $300 new 5 years ago and they see daily use. Always dry, warm and comfy. Not ridiculously hot in summer, either. Could do with a tad more protection, maybe, but they have never put a foot wrong

My next boots will also be Sidi (if these things ever bloody well die), although I will probably go with GoreTex and a bit more heft to them, like these.

+2 on Sidi's. Had my goretex adventure boots at leats 6 years, dry feet, all day comfort & not a stitch coming loose. For warmth you need good socks & a bit of air space. Cramped boots = cold tootsies.

Not what you're after, but my Forma Adventure boots are fantastic.

The only way to benchmark waterproof? When you're walking through a stream or river and the boot wants to float. Nothing beats an immersion test

+1 for Sidi from me too. Have a non-gortex pair and have never had wet feet (and I've gone a few days in pretty heavy rain)

I've just had mine re-soled after about 4 -5 years and will get another pair when these need replacing.

They are nice, pity we don't have the selection here in NZ like that of FC-Moto.
