I think those 3 goals made into a poll would be interesting.....

To me, its the Planet & its enviroment that everything relies on to live is the only goal that we really should concentrate on.
Societal & economic goals are totally reliant on it & are responsible for its continued degradation.
Being able to sustainably live here is the greatest challenge yet for our species .To begin with that will bring the inevitable & necessary change to Society & its economics. Just starting to clean the place up is a huge job in its self.

If we keep fretting the details we'll never get anywhere & we will miss an opportunity to make a semi controlled future for ourselves rather than a descent into Chaos.

I agree mate. Thing is though it needs to be put into simple terms and not with the environment as concern #1. You and I may well know that if the environment fails then we're in for a world of hurt and it'll be seriously fuckin messy. The downside is that we are able to survive artificially. For how long is anyone's guess, but it certainly won't be sustainable as we burn through the resources making "stuff". Unfortunately people want to know what's in it for them and I think the order of Economy, Society and Environment is right from that point of view. However I was hoping for the issues that people think would fit into these categories.

I'm looking at putting some form of generic presentation(s) together for no other reason than it'll help me get things straight. I may even use it someday, so you may well get some entertainment out of it if nothing else.

To that end here's the brief:

To outline a new economic model with a positive societal and environmental impacts. There will be elements of cross over, but I'll figure that out depending on how specific you are. Do I realise where I'm posting this. You fuckin betcha, so have at it in all of your guises.

To post something of more consequence a big thing for me is to stop making policies based on image, kneejerks and alternative agendas. Lots of things from the alternative motives for traffic fines down to the while circle jerk over anti nuclear would be a lot better discussed and resolved without the whole image deal. The problem being image sells and people are in fact overly stupid about how they vote or are swayed by media.

Economics on a wider scale (ie the general western model of it) are something that kinda need major revising in a big way, specially with the way we can track and digitalize most payments, it's a power which would more than likely be greatly either fucked up or abused; BUT ideally things like corporations with huge income would stop getting away with shit like getting more in grants than they pay in tax like the whole thing with the UK division of amazon. But it'll never happen anytime soon. Basically a model that incorporates the ability to make things easier, fairer and let dodgy cunts get away with less. Think cash with RFID chips to track the flow, or some kind of matrix search algorithm (like google uses) that links related companies and can smartly find dodgy schemes using the channelling through 3rd parties, although the idea a single bit of cash can be tracked through the system back to you from anywhere/anyone might raise some pretty mean privacy issues. Not to mention it's just a new thing that will be volleyed over for control.

Environmentally we'd not do stupid shit like sell our gas and would have a couple nice little combined gas cycle power stations setup instead of importing Indonesian coal for huntly and the likes. Even better would be turf the know nothing moron party commonly called the greens out along with the maori party and they can scrap over the 3 or 4 fucks given by the whole country about it



Would be nice for us normal people if they polished up the ACC books and got rego etc all in check. Would save us all a small fortune and the system a large one from the hangers on. Which a lot comes from trying to accommodate everyone that can yell loud enough wanting a slice.

So,

Economy: needs overhaul, needs digitisation (it already is), address economic fraud, address corporate greed, cut red tape, economic privacy, FTA's
Societal: stop marketing and advertising from setting "norms", sensible laws, enable effective politicians, decent healthcare, slick processes dealing with needs
Environmental: Give the Green party more teeth
