    Found this old(ish) gem

Sitting at home on a cold, wet Saturday afternoon and having put the bikes away for winter i couldnt help but watch some gopro footage of warmer times and stumbled across this piece of fantastic driving i had completely forgotten about.:

I have no idea what the guy was up to, trying to block me? race me? did he even know i was there?
Anyway i thought i would share to remind everyone that sometimes they really are out to get us.

Yeah it's tough riding behind drivers like that, getting passed them asap is the best option, just not on a right hander
Don't know if he was trying to block you, people who drive like that generally do so on a day to day basis.

I have noticed (on the odd occasion) that some drivers seem to deliberately hug the centre line when approach them (as you did in that vid) after passing another vehicle. But that's their problem.

Looking more at the footage, the guy seems to start cutting corners as soon as i got behind him.
Maybe he hates bikes, maybe he had a shitty experience with some other riders a short time before, i dont know.

Nice riding. Definitely best to get by the ute as quickly as possible.
I saw some go pro footage on youtube of a couple of sport bike riders on a country road in the USA. One rider overtakes a ute with a (I shit you not) quad bike hanging off the back. The driver basically goes apeshit and pushes the ute as hard as he can to ensure the other rider doesn't get by. He crosses the centre line on purpose and actually tries to clip the sport bike a couple of times. Goes on for around 5 minutes and then things come to a head and the red-neck is stopped at an intersection and comes out with a tyre iron yelling about bikers pissing him off etc...... Luckily the bikers had camera footage as everyone started calling the police.

Ute just looks to be a normal fucked-in-the-head kiwi driver doing a normal driving style.

Also: What's this "put the bike away for the winter" crap?

I reckon he was trying to get in your way too.
Have had the same happen to me on the Rimutaka Hill Rd at first I thought he was just a shit driver but then realised what he was doing. A 60 ish gentleman in a people mover with young kids in it weaving around across the double yellow lines!

If you HAD used your indicators he may have moved over as soon as he saw it.
