Glasses fogging up?

G'day all. I am new to this forum, and pretty green at road riding too.

The other day I rode to Nelson in the freezing fog, and I had real issues with my glasses fogging up. My visor was fine, but I ended up riding with the visor up so that I could keep wiping my glasses so I could see where I was going.

I wondered if there was a definitive solution to this, or what do other folk do in similar circumstances?

There are some fancy commercial products available, but as i am a tight assed bastard i just use pledge, also good on you visor to keep the rain off

Iin the rain my glasses tend to fog up on the inside of the lense (which I can't wipe) then when I lift the visor the fog clears on the inside but the rain gets on the outside which then requires regular wiping with gloves.

Some gloves have a little squeeggee (sp?) thing on one finger for wiping?

Wish they made a pinlock for glasses.

YMMV but they told me not to use anything but water on my expensive lenses when I got them, something to with an anti-glare coating?

Lift the visor one click, it will act like a demister. Failing that, try pledge on your glasses, it works for visors/rain.

I experienced the same thing. Went and got my self contact lenses. Never had to deal with the problem since.

After struggling with all sorts of remedies I decided that the only decent solution is to wear contact lenses when riding. Anything else is just a pain in the arse.

Mmmm, I am not obliged to wear glasses when driving/riding, but it seemed like a good plan. I don't wear them all the time anyway and have never used contacts. My visor stays pretty fog free, so I might just try pledge on the glasses.

not always. But a good thing to try first.

Has something to do with breathing, cold or misty air outside. Glasses are pita. Unfortunately need them to see =S

used to use the stuff in the squeegee type bottles. but they stopped selling it, so aerosol nowadaze.

If your helmet has a breath guard, take it out. Exacerbates the glasses fogging issue 10 fold.
