...Did I just throw up a pie from 1986?...or did honda??

ugly tree...every fucking branch!!! ( Look at the HP & torque figures!!...what a gutless peice of..)

The comments below the story are interesting...I have to agree with them...this would be a good bike for older "injured" riders looking for a return to riding, or a new rider looking for a low seat height, automatic trans (Thats not a scooter!) and that can carry alot of gear!....touche honda...touche! (they can certainly spot a gap in the market!)

...still a shame it looks like a head on between a PC800 and a late 80s goldwing!...yuck! lol

We may not get the DCT version in NZ, they don't bring it in for the NC700, but then an automatic might suit this 'cruisier' version I s'pose.

I know they're separate companies but Honda bikes and Honda cars have completely lost the plot in recent times. Edgy design, snappy performance, great ergonomics used to be things that Honda took pride in.

Now it appears that they have hired that designer who used to work for Ssangyong -- a graduate from the Comedy School Of Design.

One of my most favourite bikes I owned (back in the late '80s) was my VF500F.
What a bike. It was the late model one which had the Honda V4 issues ironed out.
It had the "snappy performance, edgy styling and great ergonomics".
    Was bloody comfortable.
They need to reintroduce that bike with updated styling and perhaps modern suspension. Would sell well.
None of this lie-low auto crap.

honda have always been a bit weird.

cant see them selling too well in NZ, but there are plenty of places that arent NZ. im sure they will sell by the bucket-load in some parts of the world, particularly places where bikes are regarded more as cheap transport than expensive hobby.

Based off their new 670cc engine (NC700 S/X etc)... nope, it ain't gonna happen.
