    Zxr450

    G'day,

Just wondering if anyone out there has a ZXR450 engine they want to sell or alternatively any parts to help with an engine build - pistons, barrels etc...

    PM me please.

    Cheers

I know Chappy had some very broken ones. He's really good at disassembling engines without tools.

Hey fella for a basic 444kit it's pretty simple, you just bore out std barrels costs vary little......just make sure they are bored straight

Rods you shot peen and balance the crank if you feel the need. Pistons you just have to man up and buy a new set. Tts in the uk charge heaps. If your smart/lucky you could try and get the part numbers off the pistons hem selfs and try and order the piston from the us...... They are so much cheaper from the us. Poms charge to much.

You should get 8-10hp from it - I do know of a set of fcrs for sale in foxton if your keen.

Last ditch effort eBay uk you may find a second hand set.

Don't do cams unless you like buying valves everyyear

Only other things you need to get is a bag of clean rags to soak the oil and a couple of boxes for the broken parts collection aye Nelly

Count the blow-ups Andy & Richie have had between them in over eight years of national campaigns on hot 450's. You wont get far counting...
Good 'how to' knowledge, well built motors, good preventative maintenance is the key (like with any motor which you start tuning the nuts off).
Knowledge is number one, you'll only get it by experience or talking with the experienced people. People who can build these engines in the dark, blind folded and with one hand tied behind their backs. Pick up the phone and talk to these lads. They know.

AQ couple of years back I sold a job lot of ZXR parts to goblin?? I think. A lady based taupo way who had a zxr400
Anyhoo in amongst that lot was 2/3 of a TTS big bore kit.Usefull maybee for the numbers you need to order stuff.
My advice based on experience. If you want to extract big numbers from those engines start out at the crank and work up.
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?
