Done some of that already. Last time I was down there I did Waitaanga, Mangaroa, Okau, Mangapapa, Moki, Ohura then back out the Forgotten Highway.

Open source maps are pretty inaccurate in that region, so that's also on my imaginary list of roads I need to explore (except that it's a whole region). I went down Ngatoto Rd South, just north of Purangi and barely got back out when I struggled for grip up a steep clay section...

Just a question or two (please Mr Maha) but does anyone know if they will let us in - not being members and all - I would think they would be happy for the business. And for those with the dinner option is there a set time or do we turn up whenever?? As in my perfect world I will have something to eat, go to the cossie club, get a jug or 4 in and watch the AB's spank the Aussies. Only 3 sleeps away!!

And it was at least 5 mtrs Mr H

Phew got bike back tonight, all good to go. Wallet hammered but what can you do. Looking forward to it all - go us! (and/or All Blacks/Wallabies/local sports team/etc).

Might meet up with the Hamilton guys at Kingsgate if they will have me. Looks like it takes the same amount of time from Taupo. But anyway, I will be in Pirongia at 12 pm.

Just a quick look at metvuw it looks like the worst of it will be confined to the northern Waikato. Not good news for most, but at least better news for the Southern leg.

It's also part of clubs nz so anyone who is a member of a clubs nz club should be able to sign in a guest or two, and I think with a quick word to the manager anyone else will be welcome for a quiet brew with the game.
