    Good engine reconditioners in Auckland?

Hello all, does anyone know of a skilled and reputable engine re-conditioner in the Auckland reputable? Looks like I need to re-bore my engine and pop new cylinders in my RD!

Just saw your post. Did you get what you wanted? You have an old RD? I rebuilt an RD400 once. Very easy job - if just the top end.

You'll need to pull off the barells and take them to a reconditioner. But you'll need to assess the bottom end too. There is a good on on the North Shore I use but I can't remember the road. Hillside? Near Tristram Ave turnoff.

Engine Specialties - 96 Hillside Road, Glenfield. They're very good.

That's them. I have used them several times for reboring and suchlike.

I almost forgot about this thread! Just stumbled back upon it now... Yeah I took the barrels out to Glendene Engine Reconditioners, they were good guys, gave me a straight up opinion and the consensus was that my barrels were still well within tolerance (pistons were shot though, one was second hand or something cause it had about half a mm of clearance on either side...). I ended up just chucking in new pistons/rings/bearings and the like and all is good! I recommend the guys out at Glendene, only downside is that they don't have the right tools to chamfer the ports on two strokes, or so he told me. My bottom end is still within tolerance too But someday I will need to do a full rebuild, crank and all... I'll keep the Glenfield place in mind

Well done there. Easy motors to work on eh?
