upgrade of exhaust for my 08 gsxr 1000

hmmmm thinking...thinking about buying one for my bike....i could go yoshi or other sport related exhaust but i dont want too be like everyone else...so looking at a vance and hines who make lovely harley/cruiser exhausts...too....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=386-s9huSEM

My main question Do i go for the black http://www.vanceandhines.com/store/sport/suzuki/42517/ or stainless steal version? http://www.vanceandhines.com/store/sport/suzuki/32517

Is the stainless steal likely to tarnish/blue.

The bike has a standard exhaust similar to the matt black version of the V&H exhaust already?

Or should i look at a different brand, this will set me back around $1200 for the two slip on's....remembering my preference is not to be another sports bike with (insert well known and well common exhaust brand here)

Vance & Hines certainly make some nice stuff. While I personally prefer the look of the black, being a ceramic coating over stainless it'll be very easy to scratch and damage in years to come. Shiny stainless will stay looking good with a bit of polish for ever.

Also bearing in mind that the black version is around $50-60US more.....worth it or not??? I do like shiny things but wonder if it will be more hassle to maintain than the matt black? I am also running K&N filters, i am assuming i am not going to have too much issue with a slip on exhaust...not worry about a few horse power loss but i dont want to wreak the engine either.

Personally I would get a Scorpion Slip On. I've had a Yoshi in the past and it was good but Scorpions come with removable scilencers and are a bit cheaper.
I wouldn't pay 1200 for a zorst if it didn't include a full set of extractors. You see much better gains with a good set of extractors and pipes to match. Its also a good way to chop weight off the bike.
You will need to purchase a power commander or have a ECU tune if you want to see the gains though, might as well get a ATRE chip while you are at it to free up the midrange and remove the speed limiter.

My bike is quite slugish off the line at times because I haven't had it tuned. Doesn't bother me on the street though
