    Northland snow

The deep south may be getting a few inches of snow, here in the north, a hail storm just passed over and the temp dropped to 4 degrees in an instant.

First pic is the storm approaching, it was brief, the last was taken about 10 minutes later.
And yes, I know the gutters need a clean.

We can see Repco from here...
A few years ago we had a enough hail to build a hailman...
Just had some more hail deposited, fire siren has gone off twice in the last hour, they attend accidents more than fires around here.

Tamahunga is famed for its light dustings of snow, happened again a couple of years ago

We still have un-melted hail about the place that tells me it is cold outside. it is a bit stormy which is more concerning for me. Placing candles and boxes of matches is my next job. Stay warm folks!

We took a 4WD trip to St Bathans yesrterday. Over half a meter of snow on the ground there, so I'm thinking of heading back there to day on the DR for a play if it clears up a bit.

Same up here, blue skies one minute, hailing paint balls the next. We had a very heavy hail shower a wee while ago which had the stuff coming down the extractor at work & bouncing off my stove. Got all the doors & windows closed at home to keep the draft in. I'm trying to summon up the determination to take a bike to work but the flesh is weak. Riding home in freezing rain at midnight does not appeal.
We still don't have the fire in.
