    55-60? That is my max temp under heavy load for me.

    Shouldn't be causing your PC to shut down though.

    Either way. Its a pretty old rig, probably upgrade to last years tech fair cheap, which'll see you through 2020.

    Also seems to be randomly lagging etc, so I reckon it could be the motherboard is giving up the ghost.

    It worked for my old desktop in summer - that and blowing out 7 yrs of accumulated dust and crud!

    Before you bin it, borrow a mates PSU and see if the same thing happens... unless you're lookin for an excuse to get a new machine that is.

    Seems to be more of a problem with Nvidia GPUs
