    Screen screwed up

Gots me a 17" Toshiba laptop core i7 etc, when she wakes up after falling asleep from the exhausting downloading I put her through downloading the interwebs currently at 0.0000001% the screen has horizontal lines all across it making it barely able to read. I should also mention that sometimes it actually shows half the right hand side on the left and the left on the right. And as it's running windows 8 I need to point the mouse to the right hand side (which shows in the middle of the screen) in order to bring up the menu. When I get home tonight I will post a picture which will help explain this.

Now a simple restart fixes the problem which should mean it's not a hardware problem. I've tried downloading the driver supplied on the Toshiba website however it's the same driver from production and a quick check on the AMD website tells me Toshiba supplies the driver. So how do I fix it?

I'm going to guess it is a buggy driver. Could be a power management driver or a video driver.

If you are still having the problem after getting the latest drivers then I would suggest they are also buggy.

Quick fix - disable power saving.

Some Windows 8 users have reported issues with sleep/suspend/hibernation, so yes, disabling can avoid the problem.

Other possibility is going to the OEM website for drivers, ie, if it's AMD, try downloading graphics drivers from them.

It is AMD however when chcking that site it mentions the driver is supplied by (in this case Toshiba) and when checking their site the driver is the original from when it was produced so no new drivers.
