I commuted on a PE400T and it tore the sole/heel off quite a few pairs of shoes.I hope the RM is easier to kick over or you will be fucking another ankle.

lol. Sick fucker! And nah. It's all technique mate. Tell ya what IS hard to start...a left side kickstart CR480. The mistake most people make with big two strokes is giving them a half arsed kick. But if you get 'em to, or close to TDC, them jump on the kick start lever with everything you've got, they fire up quite easily. Best to shift 'em into neutral too, as the lil bit of xtra drag from the clutch makes things harder than they need be.

My left hand kick T500 was easy enough but when you weigh 65kg dripping wet even giving the PE everything I had saw me kicked back off the seat and onto the road more then once.I didn't learn the TDC trick until I started riding old triumphs.

My old T500 was easy enough to kick over too, when you got the hang of it. And my PE400 was a right bastard to start, until you found its sweet spot on the kick stroke, was good for keeping others of me bike though, cant start it, cant ride it.

You got that bike finished yet or what?? What you shaggin round at.

Just want to see it finished, there is just something about early japanese bikes that spins my wheels.

Having cut my teeth on them I'm firmly with you there.
I can't immediately think of any new jap bike that I would pick over say a waterbottle or machIII kwacka.

I certainly prefer the character of the 70s and 80s stuff compared to what is available these days.

You should call out and see Jimmy at work bro. Stu has a pretty tidy waterbus sitting in the foyer.

Making a little headway. Have decided to go with the black look. The factory bikes of 78/79 had black swingarms...so why not! Have a nice set of black DID rims for it too. Here it be if any of you old cunts are still interested...whatchu reckon?

I think that'll be too much black and look like crap, apart from that looks good
