Noob question about an oil leak

Query about my 99 BMW F650ST

Ok. The bike has been parked up for a bit and I went out for a ride. While warming the motor and putting my helmet and gloves on lots of smoke from front of the bike. Very nervous, looked and saw it was oil burning off from exhaust. Turned motor off. Got courage back up, went to mechanic, they cant see anything tell me to keep an eye on the oil levels.

Went out this morning and small oil stain on concrete. Looked up and saw quite a bit of oil on front exhaust pipe. Followed it up and the leak seems to be from the oil feed hose where it connects to top end of the motor.

This hose is jubilee clipped on and what it is clipped on to looks like its threaded in.

    Some questions
1 has anyone else who owns one of these bikes experienced this?

2 Would changing hose and or the clip sort it?

3 As a noob do I ring the mechanic and book it in and stop pissing around with it.

    cheers!

Clip has probably cut through the rubber hose, if there is enough length, chop it of and redo it, otherwise replace hose.

cheers, that was good advice. As it happens I am a complete wuss, more worried about breaking something more than anything else. So I took the bike to the mechanic to sort this.
This turned out to be a wise move for me, he had two pairs of hands, better tools than me, a means to catch the oil as it came out of the frame and a replacement clip as it was shot. Cut the pipe to get rid of the hole, fixed it up and replaced the lost oil again. Job's a goodun

Dunno, haven't spoken to her for a couple of years. She is always in victim mode, so I cant be bothered.
