And it's patently obvious we're moving out of the phase of "vaccines absolutely don't cause autism" into "so what if vaccines cause autism, at least it's better than death".

The pro vaccine diatribe has become so predictable.

How can you get 95% immunity against measles in a population when many of the vaccinated adults either never had or have lost their immunity?

They clearly don't cause autism. No fucking sane person thinks that, but its pointless arguing with you or the other turkeys.
Don't you look at my accountant.

It must be becoming increasingly difficult to hold such an unwavering opinion Drew.

Especially in the face of people such as the former Chief Scientific Officer for the UK Department of Health saying something quite different.

I can't imagine why it would be hard to understand the Scientific method. Controlled peer reviewed studies weed out the crackpot and the self interested.

Exactly so...and then the internet gave them an unregulated forum to disseminate their crackpot shit.

I would be interested to learn whether katflap ever had anyone in his family or circle of acquaintances contract TB, or polio.
I'm old enough to remember what happened - and the consequences.
Then the disappearance of those diseases when general vaccination arrived.

I'm sure Dr Peter Fletcher is completely familiar with the Scientific method.

In fact, I imagine he understands it far better than you do.

Now, you listen here! He's not the Messiah. He's a very naughty boy! Now, go away!

    vaccines and efficacy

Would you buy a television that only worked 90% of the time you swtiched it on?
would you buy a car that started only 50% of the time?

Vaccines are far from perfect products - they predate modern medicine and any decent treatments for bacteria or viruses,
but they exist for the same old reason to make money

take the Shingles vaccine currently advertised on TV... targeting the edlerly
at a cost of $200+, and GP fees

The ability of Zostavax® to prevent herpes zoster is highest in adults aged 50–59 years at 70%
and becomes less effective with advancing age, 48% in adults aged 65–69 years
and 42% in adults aged 80 years or older
THATS less than 50% effective in the target audience of 65 years or older !

the manufacturer ! cant even tell you how long it lasts or when boosters should be given

If you are 80 there is a 1 in 5 chance of getting shingles
If you are 80 and vaccinated your chances are 1 in 9?

If having a TV that only worked 90% of the time meant I didn't get a nasty disease, then sign me up for the TV.
What's the point in you clowns thrashing your point of view in this thread? To convince others it's right? I doubt it's to save me & other members of this forum from evil big pharmacy.
Get on with your lives vaccine free & stop imagining that your point of view is somehow far more valid than others, that's your choice, good onya.
We get it, you're anti vaccine, I'm anti a few things that don't affect me personally to, but I've decided that's the choice of the user to get drugged & mess their lives up, they're welcome to it.

If there are further efforts to introduce mandatory vaccination then it becomes something that affects everyone.

(And you do realise no-one's forcing you to come in and comment on this thread, don't you?)
