The stupidity during COVID was exhibited by the anti vaxxers, the anti maskers, and those who distrusted QR codes. An unbiased review should reveal that none of the dire predictions made by the antis have been borne out. Their concerns existed only in their fevered imaginings.

That there is mass stupidity about is unarguable. Seventy million Americans voted for a six times bankrupt, adjudicated rapist, 34 times convicted felon, serial conman, to be their president.

And it's getting more difficult to sort the sugar from the shite. The clip mentions the social media algorithms but now we also have AI. Or 'A One' as Trump's Secretary of Education referred to it.

I believe that the majority of people now know and agree that,
1. We were lied to about the origin of Covid.
2. We were lied to about the lethality of Covid.
3. We were lied to about the efficacy of the Covid testing.
4. We were lied to about the efficacy of the Covid Vaccines.
5. We were lied to about the side effect risks of the Covid vaccines, and that
6. We are still being lied to.

Why on earth would anyone believe what our governments tell us?

Sure - but on each point - there are elements that are objectively true. Whilst there could be some debate as to how far things went as to whether or not they traverse into 'Lied' territory - As an example - there was a time when saying that Covid came from China would get you yeeted off of Social Media and a number of Scientists signed a letter stating that this was 'Impossible'

Now - if you are charitable, you might say that people with good intentions were mistaken about the Evidence and/or data.

However, given that there were people who were critical of various claims and they were actively silenced - I apply the same degree of Charity to them as they applied to their opponents.... None at all.

If you look at the most contentious claims about the side effects of the Vaccine - for every Vaccine there are known possible issues - however the rate of incidence (at a population level) is relatively low.

It is one thing to honestly discuss the side effects - it is another to declare any discussion (no matter how rational or fanciful) as verbotten.

I think you mean "came from a lab in China....".

I believe it's now indisputable that it came from a lab and I'll even go a step further and say that I don't believe the virus 'escaped' accidentally.
