The vaccine had made measles a thing of the past. Then RFK Jr spotted a way to make money. The current outbreak has now spread to thirty eight states in the US as well as to Canada and Mexico. RFK Jr has fired the people responsible for protecting the US population against disease outbreaks. There is no Fauci or deep state to blame. The blame falls squarely on RFK Jr and the person who appointed him.

The last paragraph of the summary below.
Given the potential severity of COVID-19 infection, particularly in vulnerable populations, the benefits of vaccination generally outweigh the potential, albeit low, risk of autoimmune disease development. Future studies should focus on identifying factors that may increase or decrease the association of autoimmune diseases following COVID-19 infection or vaccination, as well as developing strategies for early detection and management of these conditions.

I agree, it needs to be looked at deeper to better understand it, but at present is deemed by the authors to be a low risk.

Which is scant comfort to those who it does actually affect.

Yes, if course. And as mentioned, it should be studied further and hopefully be mitigated, either with the vaccine itself, or a treatment that can be effective. However, It is in no way unusual to have small percentages of people to have adverse reactions to just about any pharmaceutical based medication you could mention.

    I'm well aware of that.

However, I'll remind you of my primary focus here. It is morally abhorrent to force people to take a medication against their will.

And while you can parrot Chris Hipkins all you like, in that "no-one was forced to take the vaccine", threatening someone that they will lose their job (along with their ability to provide a home, food and other essentials for their family) if they don't comply, is wrong on every level imaginable.

OK, looking at this vaccine through that prism - My viewpoint is, apart from parroting hipkins, I do not disagree with anything you said there.

I'm starting to wonder if the long held ethical approach that 'the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few' (apologies to Spock) behind modern medicine can survive the assertion of individual rights which seems to be becoming a more important consideration for a lot of people these days.

    Typhoid Mary was quarantined.

    Hardly a valid comparison.
