Sounds like I need to take it to somebody in the know then. I wonder if I should take it to Coleman's Suzuki or Spectrum?

Are you mobile without the bike going? You can pop over here and I can check the float height for you. 10 min job as long as you have the spec. I may be able to get my compressor going to and blow it out though thats not been run for a long time.

    PM me if you want.

so maybe you can clean it to? book for older models says 27.4 + 1.0 mm if that makes sense? that would be cool if you could, saves me some cash money. Will PM you shortly. Oh and yea I got a car too.

Someone with a bit of knowledge and specs for the float height could do it, A shop would charge a minimum labour cost (1hrs worth) but its easily done 15-20mins tops
What's the best place to get an inline filter?

that measurement is with the carb upside down and measured squarely off the carb body to what will be the upper edge off the float, the +/- 1.0mm is the allowable variation

I might be in Auckville again in a few weeks, if I am I'll set the carb up for milk and cookies.
I might have a new fuel tap and filter somewhere too.

Float on those is best set with the carb on its side, not upside down. Should be measured/adjusted to where the tang just kisses the needle (giggity?)

lol don't tell a mechanic that that goes against every manual both factory & aftermarket

how the hell are you going to know you're getting any accurate measurement

You measure it at the height where the float kisses the needle. It's easier to set it on its side than hold it upside down and lift the float so it's not depressing the needle.
The manual states 27.4 +/-1mm when just in contact with the needle valve.

    Not that I'd know anyway

    So the verdict is...

my bike is fully fucked. It won't turn on without the choke now and when you warm it up and close it, it stalls shortly after. Sounds totally screwed, won't idle properly. I'm pretty upset and totally over this piece of shit bike. Tried to change mixture, idle speed, whatever, nothing helps. Put that inline filter in, then reverted back to old one, no difference. Over it, just over it. Unless this ends up being an easy fix that someone else can fix since It's above my skill level, then fuck it all!

if anyone can fix my bike proper I'll give them more than milk and cookies!

I'd say it just needs a carb clean

You can get more than milk and cookies?
