Yeah, my money would be on something simple like that too. I will hold all the betting money for everyone.......Just send it to greedy fucker Gore.

It is very clean inside and all I did was run some carb cleaner through it and blew it out with the compressor. I strongly suspect this float height.

Bosslady text me later, I can pop over tonight for a look with it on the bike if that suits.
Yup 27mm is correct, GNs had no mechanical changes over the years (all of them run a BS34SS Mikuni)
If you haven't got it sorted in a few weeks Bosswimmin, I will try make time to help you when I'm in D'orkland and I'll bring up a carb and a few other bits

I'll try that but I've already screwed around with something that is far beyond my current comprehension of anything! I think it is best I try and find someone who knows what they are doing.

Leathel I may take you up on your offer I'll just see what I can do this week first, if anything.

I just fired up roses bike with stale fuel and it fired up alright and worst case scenario if you cant sort it we can steel her carb to try on yours...

And the trolls on this site are probably just jealous that you have clocked up more k's on a bike that doesn't meet their standard than they have on the garage pony

As long as she comes right before the cold kiwi I'll be happy. Well maybe still a little grumpy that I have a POS bike, but it's a bike, I guess.

Be kind to your bike. It might not be the bike you want now, but it is the bike you have, and it gets you out there 'doing it'. Any bike is going to need a little work from time to time. Chill out.

Isn't that the truth, I got my bike out before, I had to clean the panniers
I have only ever own six bikes, four have been brand new. Don't think I will buy second hand again. One of the two non new bikes I owned cost over $4K in the two and a bit years I had it...never again.

So you've pulled it apart and put it back together and now it's worse than when you started, that's the sort of story people qualified to fix things love to hear.

Fair enough for giving it a go, seems ironic however to be swearing about the bike after you broke it. Correct procedure is to gracefully admit defeat, then get someone that knows what they're doing to fix it and explain what you did wrong.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987
