Its a little hard to tell from your mint descriptions exactly what parts you need but it sounds like the needle and main jet setup......

The other thing it could be maybe is the needle valve

but I don't think it is that...... Unfortunately that site doesn't have the other setup..

As for the carb, apparently the needle (the one with the black tube and diaphragm attached attached to it? whatever the proper name for that is) was slightly bent. He also said the emulsion tube (jet?) had worn (from the needle rubbing against it over time) turning it oval and that that was pretty normal for a bike like mine having done 20-30k (it's done about 20k now). So, I need a new needle and the emulsion tube I guess? Apparently it has to come from Japan, I hope it won't be too expensive!
Emulsion tubes going oval is very common, I wouldn't have expected it after 20,000ks so the needle might have been bent for some time. Can't think of anyway for that to happen, that isn't caused by a hamfisted 'think-I'm-a-mechanic' type. But I could just be not imaginative enough.

I'd get a straight needle from a wrecker, and just run it with the oval emulsion tube.

Probably doesn't hurt to get a new oem part? he said it's running and idling, but not great (at least that's what I think he said) I think it must be worth replacing the emulsion tube, esp if I've been having problems with idling and stalling for some weeks which must be because it's not sealing properly? but hey, what would I know, not like I'm a mechanic or anything (no shit!)

The needle never 'seals' to the emulsion tube. There is always a gap around the needle, for fuel to pass by.

It can't hurt to get another if they aren't expensive. A mate replaced all four on his GSXR1100, and he was disgusted at the price they stung him.

Guess they're not comparable bikes but do you know how much it was, for one? I'm not sure how much it is, neither was he as he hadn't ordered it yet until he talked to me although if it's horrendous I'm sure he'll let me know.

Oh and ta for the explanation, trying to get my head around it all.

That's what I thought you were describing but they didn't have it on that site, worth contacting them to see if they have the bits you need as he was cheaper for the genuine Klein jets for the 750 than I could get anywhere including the states....

confirm with him if it's just the diaphragm needle.. if so, find your carburetor model and you should easily find a good replacement in new zealand without waiting for parts from Japan...

I got the impression it wouldn't take too long, realistically I don't NEED my bike until the end of the month for the cold kiwi. I am just BLAH cause I can't practice any sweet moves, wheelies etc.
