    GN250 bits

Picked up one of these things very cheap (free), need a few bits. It's missing the right hand side cover, and blue ones seem a little difficult to find. Perhaps a chrome headlight lip that isn't rusted to shit and a lockset. Also, any recommendations on longer shocks and stiffer fork springs? Cheers

    Support GN250 Longer Shocks

Can't help with bits but if you're looking to change to longer shocks (like I'm doing now) beware it's not straightforward.
There are swing arm clearance and brake lever issues. I'm on a tight budget and even used replacement shocks would be too expensive (if you could source any) so I've had to modify the stock items whilst retaining original mounts to get through WOF. It should improve the looks but there's no guarantee the handling won't be adversely affected. I'll let you know how it goes if I survive the test ride.

Longer shocks are a piece of cake. I've got to pull finger and get a new set sorted on mine, will let ya know how I go

I'll have a look when I'm next at home for parts Sable, might have a side cover somewhere.
If you have a good fuel cap/key I'll send mine down as a swap, with Ign switch as I'll be going RFID on the GN600

Haven't really searched in to stiffer springs yet, but there were a lot of 70's models running the same forks, so shouldn't be too hard. You can rock a 20mm preload spacer in em before they seize up

There must be some wreckers in Wellington. I would assume that there are a few GNs to be found there. The blue side cover could be a bit more of an issue.

One tip for the headlight, if you intend to ride in the dark without playing Russian roulette then don't go for the original GN headlight. It is pretty crappy.
