You're doing well to buy 5kg of 316SST Migwire for a hundie. Because the diameter of Migwire is more critical than TIG filler wire, the filler wire is about 1/3rd the price of Migwire. Different processes used at 'mill.

Yeah....not too sure about the weld finish. Not saying I could do better.....I wouldn't want that finish on my bike and tidying it would be a mission.

Yep definetely right bro. Last time I saw s/s MIG wire I think it was a hundy for a small roll of 0.9 mill 309. Costs me about 25 bucks for 1kg for 1.6mm tig rods. Same with 6061 Ali. Trying to to advance my skill so have started building more shit with my TIG instead of my stick welder.

It clearly hasn't been cleaned yet as it is still a work in progress

Cheers pal, and yes it is satisfying. Discolouring in stainless is normal, it cleans up with pickling paste to bright shiny metal. Or just a flap disk, and autosol from supercheap

Took on some of the advice from the other day and realised I didn't like the direction the project was taking. Collector looked rushed and I did a test fitup with it this arvo and wasn't happy. The manifold was to long for the large-ish turbo and I would have had clearance issues. Its in the scrap bin now, on the way to a better place.

Spent a few hours in the shed again with the drop saw and the welder and this is what I have currently come up with...

HAve a look at this USA site - they will ship to NZ but that's a few bucks. They have a set of preformed collectors for 4-1 layouts. If you have room the two on two set-up may be better than the layout you are presently proposing in respect to flow.

Some nice looking stuff there. Unfortunately it is far to long and will have the turbo dragging on the ground. I want this stuff hand made anyway, adds to the learning experience alot more.

I dont know how well this will work but it looks nice.

Pretty sure this wouldn't fit behind the radiator

The manifold I have been using as a base is the RCC Stage 1 and 2 Kit.

Bear in mind mine is entering into a standard subaru turbo flange which has a 2' single entry. RCC designs theirs for Garrett t28s and the square t3 flange

Spent a good couple of hours helping NzSpokes today with his new Trioval Yoshi stubby can. Looks bloody on a 900 Hornet. Hopefully he will be along to post up a photo soon.
Also have a couple of the young ones from the NASS crew over tomorrow to get a GN125 Pipe put on a 125cc Chinese speed machine!!!

Haven't been working much on my own projects but I will start again shortly. Might even sell the Manifold I have made to fund some good pistons and rods. Hopefully someone on trademe will be interested in made to order Busa turbo manifolds.

Was an epic day today. Reibz went the extra mile on the Hornet. Great job done.

Sounds like a GP bike with revs on now.

    Cheers Mate.
