    9:45 AM Friday Jul 26, 2013

A man in his 20s was flown to hospital after he rode his motorbike into a tree in Whangamata.

A Westpac rescue helicopter responded to the call at 10.15am yesterday, spokeswoman Alice Wilkinson said.

The man was flown to Waikato Hospital with a suspected fracture in his lower left leg.

He was wearing a helmet when he crashed, she said.

The obvious question is ''Why didn't the tree move when it saw the bike heading towards it''?
