PVL ignition systems?

Hey Peeps. Anyone here had any experience with PVL ignition systems on single cyl large (ish) capacity two strokes? Good? Bad? I'm looking to get one for my RM400T vintage race bike. But for this amount of coin...would like to hear from some pros first.

I've grafted a couple onto customer 4 strokes. i know of a number of others locally in dirt bikes too.
They seem to be one of very few ignitions available which do exactly as they claim and have a good reliability record too.

As you say, not cheap. In my experience anyway, good value.

I run a PVL system on my two store twin race bike, its reliable once set up correctly, make sure its earthed properly! other than that no complaints in the last 7 years of use.

Cant u just use a CR 250 one ,

Not sure if its that one but I used one a few years back , Im sorry memory has escaped me , Motec I think

anyway the advance retard could be set ,

I got an Ignitech off Wobbly ( on this forum) for my BMW, he supplied me the unit and two coils for around $500. He mainly does 2 strokes so could be an option. Was under $500 NZ I think.

You can tailor the curves to suit, includes rev limiter which is cool.
Run it total loss for over a year of racing and no issues.

I've tried it and it works.

You give the seller your proxy US address, gets sent there and forwarded to you.

I got mine through Huntly Honda (Ginger Malloy) and when I needed a new coil I also got it through the same place.

have had very good success on multiple bikes with HPI igns www.hpi.be, some options including programmable, but the stock curves for the TZ have been great.

I was playing around with the timing curve on my Ignitech.
Made a bit of a vid showing it on the laptop.
Quality is a bit poor as its a phone.
