Interesting. that's the model 400 you can get an FZR1000 into - and a 5.5 rear.

Don't really see why the blade motor. Not that light or small. Best I ever got out of one on carbs was around 140rwhp.

A Blade in the hand is worth two in the bush and all that?

How does the frame cope with 3 times or so the hp and torque? I thought it would flex and crack etc.

I've actually got one of that model 400 here at present. Built like a brick shithouse. Main beams are pretty much same section as the 1000 but shorter - so stiffer. More cast sections than the 1000 too. I've never compared the early 400 weight to this late version but I'd pick the late one is quite a bit heavier.

Sounds very expensive to make a frame like that. They sound like a good bike to ride.

I'd be keen to get one if I have enough money when I get my full. Either one of them or just get a better 250.

After a quick ride and a clean why not. 8 months into ownership and absolutely no regrets. Racking up the k's and loving it.
