It's the 'weekend hoon' bit potential buyers should beware of.

54 hp sucks when an old 400 had the same. At least it's still Austrian built.

    I think the 2010 onwards have 70hp
Sounds like 54-70hp and some torque and handling could deliver enjoyment at lower than lose your licence speeds on a twisty road. Half the issue with big bikes is you can sit in second gear on a twisty road just opening and closing the throttle. Going up and down the gearbox to achieve the same thing can be rewarding for some riders. I would not mind a 690 for this reason.

70 hp is more like it. I wouldn't need the normal 120 odd hp from a inline 4 but I thought for such a big engine it was under powered.

Getting a nice smooth downshift while braking is fun. The ktm duke usually has ok suspension and brakes right?

I havent ridden one. Closest I have had to that kind of power would be a t100 trumpet a few years ago which was a blast to ride hard.

The 690 would surely handle like a dream I would expect.
There is another one on dollar reserve that finishes on Saturday I think. I dont like linking something that I think someone here might might be bidding on though so you might need look that up.

I get my full in November so no need to worry about me bidding on the auction. Despite being a single they're on the list of bikes to consider a at the end of the year.

According to my reading the suspension can be overwhelmed by either: A) super aggressive riding, or B) an excessively heavy rider.

The only guy I know who owned a Duke (his previous bike was a GSXR750) thought the handling was unbelievable. Of course this wouldn't show up on the Hutt Road, Rimutaka Hill, or other motorways.

Well I don't get my knee down or anything but I don't have chicken strips. And I weigh 70 kilos so not a fat kid.
