Ride Report:
Winter blues made us do it. Some of us hardier types in the Deepest Antipodes do not mothball our bikesand ride on through winter, but as there are no decent runs or rallies until the birds start chirping in Spring, the bunch decided to have their own.
First a good excuse was needed so became as a "give back" to the Southland Childrens Hospital of 10 toys (Grover of course). So a round up of loose change of 10 buck donations from the chasers soon had 10 toys purchased and on the 10th of August the tour run took place. Guess that you will have noticed a theme going on here.
Part of the entry was 10 burning questions unanswered, to get the answers one had to complete the run to gain a certificate which had the answers on the back. The 10 answers related to the 10 ( of 11) highways in Southland which the run meandered it's way around a lot of really good motorcycling back roads to at some stage travel parts these highways. The route I kept as a mystery so had the participating riders a guessing most of the way as to where we were heading.
Just over 500k's and you probably don't want to know that there was awesome riding weather all of the way, thought not. The final destination was the Thar and Feather Pub just around the corner from the hospital where we started from, and amused the bar staff when told that it took around 8 hours to get from one to other.
So another bloody good ride
