    Mom 1 - Telemarketer 0

I am a bit more than quietly celebrating a win tonight.

You will know I detest being annoyed in my own time by people trying to sell me shit on the phone.

SKY comes in for special mention more often than not to be fair, but generally, I am not a fan.

Tonight I answered a call from PRIVATE CALLER, my mistake I agree, but hey...

A female, who most certainly had English as a second language, asked if she could speak to Mrs XYZ, a name I have not used in such a long time.

I waited for a moment, to settle the first reaction that came to mind.

Then I asked "What do you want?!"

    Her response...

    "Oh, never mind"

When they say "it will only take 5 minutes of your time" ive often wanted to reply "no problem just give me a sec to take my pants off".

There's a game you can play with telemarketers.
You tell them your not the owner of the phone but you'll get them and then every now and then get back on the phone and assure them they are coming.
The objective is to keep them on the phone for as long as you can. They want to waste your time, waste theirs.

You guys are much better at this than me. if I pick up the phone, say hello and there's no answer, just the usual pause from the dialing machine or whatever, I just wait for them to say hello and then I don't answer - after a bit they usually hang up on their own.
