Possible sale - VTR1000F (feeler for buyer interest)

Hey guys... So after months of waiting for a specific bike within my price range, I eventually gave in and bought my second choice which was a Honda VTR1000 Firestorm. As life would turn out, a month after I bought my bike, my dream bike is available on trademe, and also at a good price within my budget.

I am considering very strongly to sell my VTR if the other bike comes through. This is a feeler, if there would be a potential buyer should I let her go.

    Details of the bike...

Ok so anyone that knows these bikes, would know just how much fun these grunt loaded torque monsters are.
This specific bike was quite a lucky find for me in the sense that there are very few models left with this mileage, and this was also the last production year they were made. The person that bought this bike, only rode her for 6000 km's and then (as I was told), he left for overseas and the bike went to storage. I am brutally honest when I tell you the bike was dirty, really, really dirty. Took me a week, to restore her condition back to what I would deem acceptable.

It's a black 2007 model, and she is fitted with a pack rack, two Micron pipes (in spotless condition), and K&N air filter. I haven't opened the carbs, but its also very possible there **may** be a stage 1 jet kit fitted. I have BOTH the keys **HISS chipped keys**, and in the cleanup / restoration work I done, I have replaced the following :

2 x New NGK Iridium plugs fitted
    1 x New oil filter
Serviced with new Motul Semi Synthetic oil
    Cleaned the K&N air filter
Removed the calipers and cleaned the pistons behind the brake pads
    Cleaned and lubed the chain
    Cleaned up the brake fluid
Polished and cleaned up the bike until my knuckles bled ( Autosol <3 ), and probably around 5 washes with my pressure cleaner.

She starts first time every time, idles smoothly and has absolutely no flat spots in the rev range, hence my belief is the carbs are spotless and no need for any tampering in there. Tyres are good, brakes are still OEM from factory. I only have some crappy low quality pics from my cellphone camera, but if required I can get some higher quality ones mailed if there is interest. Was just rego'd for 3 months about a week ago, and WOF is good till next year March or May if memory serves me right.

**edit - having issues from work uploading pic's so I performed a work-around

I used to ride one of those things- Phwoar, it was FUN! Even if your dream bike falls through and you're, um, stuck with the VTR, it's still a Very, Very Nice place to be. Good luck with the sale!

Nope, two 48mm carbs, all the better to slurp fuel with.

Haha ... thanks for the feedback guys...

@jamsop - Thanks I will keep it in mind, I wont really be making any money off her, well... maybe $200, but that's just to cover my bills for plasters and beers which I spent devouring while restoring this dirty V-twin.
I may have a fellow employee that works with me that also approached me asking me if I was still going to sell her... one blitz through the basement parking, and all hell breaks loose with car alarms going off

@misterO - yea man, the VTR's tend to grow close to your heart... Brilliant bikes with die-hard engines... wheelies are not optional.

@kornolio - You know what they say about Honda's hey ? They are like fat chicks... they are fun to ride, until your friends find out...
I am a GSXR 1000 guy by heart, but I don't have the discipline to ride them properly without getting myself into trouble hehehe.

@5150 - Only the Sp1's and Sp2's had fuel injection...

My previous bike I had in South Africa before I moved here was a GSXR1000 L0... absolutely loved it, but I also went totally bonkers with it on mods...
Fitted dual Yoshimura TRC-D carbon pipes with an Akrapovic mid pipe to get rid of the catalytic converter, Bazzaz ZFI module fitted + AFM module, with a custom base map made on the Dyno, dropped one tooth on the front-sprocket, had the ECU reflashed with factory speed restrictions removed, had my ignition timing advanced by +2 degrees, pair valve disabled in the ECU, Timing retardation removed in first 3 gears in die ECU, Vesrah SRJL pads fitted, list goes on and on. Man... that thing was completely mental.

Somehow, lately I have had cravings for a 2010 Kawasaki Z1000 or a Triumph Street triple 1050 (2011) ... Must be the age thing catching up to me...
