    Aluminium offcuts needed

Or offcut. One specifically. I only need one.

I find myself in need of a bar of ally, preferably 6061-T6 not that large but fairly thick. Any ideas on where to start looking?
Most of the googly results I've found are for industrial solutions and thus not helpful at all.

I didn't have such specific requirements, but I looked for aluminium users in the area (fabrication, assembly, sheet etc) then rang one and asked. Not as easy as I thought it would be, but ended up with a piece.

    Even TradeMe can be handy.

The size you need might be nice too, in addition to your locale. I've some 6061 12mm plate, or 5083 plate in various sizes, or 6061 round bar and maybe some square...

Ask any dark skinned person on any construction site. You will be surprised what a 6 pack will buy.

Can't throw that far, maybe try ringing around some engineering places, unlikely you will get that small a length from their suppliers anyway.

go for a drive in an industrial area
locate what looks like an engineering business
    stop the car
    walk in to the building
    enquire
    take a pill

Nah I wear slipon shoes. Much easier then having to work out how to tie decorative knots on my feet.
