Cheers for that, I might do it yet, my son is still keen.
I'm a bit slack with torque settings, but there are areas where I don't risk it. My XTZ 660 that I sold had a knock coming from within. It was the nut on end of crank not torqued up correctly from factory. I torqued it up, and it was perfect after that.

Good you have a tap. Hope you have the torque settings.
Anyway no hurry, you've got plenty of time on your side.
Rang them this morning and gave them the part number for the gasket I need, It's in stock in NZ so it'll be here next week

Couple of minutes pissing about to get the Tap started but the thread cleaned up ok, once I have the gasket it'll be a runner in a few minutes

Just looking at some oversize pegs for it and will see next week if I can get the forks out to get the leaky seals sorted

I prefer the wider pegs, Beta had narrow pegs, got some nice cnc machined ally ones off Aliexpress .com cheap as chips, you just gotta be patient. Slow post but mostly free.
Well you do have time to replace the seals. It'll be a new bike next time you ride it.
Good they have that gasket in NZ

All done, took a couple of goes as even though the case felt like it was seated and done up tight there was a water leak, popped it back off and reseated it and it's all good, ftted some barkbusters as well and except for the fact the engineer who was doing a little job on my rear brake lever has managed to lose it in his workshop somewhere it's ready to go

Just need to wait until I go see the surgeon again on the 1st Sept to get the ok to go riding

That's bloody good, especially knowing the water won't end up in the gearbox again. Sound like there's still time to do the fork seals.
And yeah barkbusters are worth their weight in gold.
Looks as though we are doing "the peaks" trail ride Sunday
