Been through there, led a Ducati owners club ride through Mitchells to Kumara, I wasn't allowed to lead one again after that, his other campsite was where one of the trail rides is held where you fell off in the river

Whereas on the best Enduro bike Yamaha ever built I breezed through to the front of the queue of moderns shitting their pants at the thought of it and just rode through, actually I think that was the year after you went swimming so SVboy went swimming instead

Totara valley trail ride yesterday. Excellent ride. The rain on Saturday made the trail super greasy in the morning but kept the dust down nicely.
T he first three enduros were straight forward but the forth was super challenging. Biggest hill climb I have ever done! Got sucked into a bottomless bog on my second loop! Water blaster working overtime when I got home!

Gave that one a miss as I'd spent 3 days away riding the weekend before and thought I'd wait until Grassmere although it was looking pretty dry that way when we came back through

Beautiful valley yesterday. Perfect day for it. Track was the driest I have ever experienced. On my first lap on the third enduro, which was a really steep downhill, the guy in front of me fell off and I clipped his bike. Folded the shift lever like a pretzel! That was difficult finishing the lap!
Borrowed another shifter and did another lap with no enduros. Great ride, good day.

On my GG I have a spare shifter cable tied to the frame. They are retained with an optimistic tiny circlip and clamping pressure of a bolt. A bit like Japanese system but without the bolt captivating it on a shaft recess.

So I'm blazing along on a leafy trail ride all like "BWAA-BWAA-rin-a-ding BWAA-BWAA-rin-a-ding. .BWAA-BWAA" [shift]. . Oh foot missed [shift] Hey!!

Went back to look for it. I'd been in maybe 3rd. Where did I last shift? Heck I dunno, could have been ages ago, it was single track twisty stuff. Spent ages, no sign of it.

Made my way back scared of any hill around the corner and trying not to overrev it on open bits. Couldn't do another loop.

Old owner had lost circlip I believe, but I was vigilant on tightness and crisp clips thereafter.

A mates GG did same thing a few years later but I was prepared.

Hmm. Have spare levers for the Beta but can't recall if I've done anything about the shifter. Not a huge concern atm but hopefully will be back to it in future.

Sand country ride up here apparently was dry and great.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.

Does that transfer over to roadbikes? We could line you up with a nice trouble free CB500X or similar.
You meet the nicest people on a Onda. And you.,
