Take consolation in the fact someone else was even more uncoordinated than you or maybe it is just a Beta thing and is currently on morphine waiting for an ultrasound and no that wasn't me

Well 6½ hours waiting for ultrasound and xrays but it was all worth it, I'm now the proud owner of two badly broken ribs

Rewind a bit, doing the last enduro and it all turns to custard, I ride out, load the bike and got changed, went to the ambulance and they checked me over and gave me panadol & ibuprofen, and there was a young mate of mine @39yo getting his ankle checked, they called another ambulance and gave him a ride to hospital. I text him the next day and he tells me it's only sprained.
I had to drive home leaning over the steering wheel because I couldn't let my broken ribs touch the seat back, fuck that hurt.

I didn't bother with xray, I knew mine were broken as I hit the ground. The number broken was merely academic. 6 weeks in I can just lie flat in bed. Find a nice reclining chair or deck lounger to sleep in.

A couple of years ago a friend I ride with broke 5 ribs avoiding a quad on the Mac Donald Downs Trail ride. He loaded his bike, drove his landcruiser home and failed to sleep all night until a visit to A&E the next day confirmed it. Our mission then became to tell him funny jokes.......

It can depend where you break them. I broke 5 and clavicle racing and it was easier. But to load bike and drive is a harder man than I.
    But so is a florist..

We have Carterton which is last ride showing up for a while it seems.

Might get a short ride on the roadbike as some sort of consolation
