Not sure its my bag? I dislike boulder bashing up river beds. Did the Ashley from SH1 up to towards the gorge recently on the mighty DRZ250. Didymo made most of those crossings push rather than ride.
Did the Greta Valley trail ride on sunday...a bit meh and farm tracky. On the first loop I missed an arrow and missed the 2 enduros.....which was good. The first on was a bastard apparently. Bodies all over the hillside. Second loop we did enduro 2 which was fun. Very steep downhills. Many crashes , at one stage 4 ambulances were lining up and the WESTPAC chopper came into the steep valley we were riding up. It was to rugged to land so dropped 2 paramedics to deal to the casualties. Great weather, great views but would not do again.

Yesterday was the Peaks Trail ride-the muddiest most slippery ride of the calendar, except it wasn't. It was the driest in memory and made for a great ride. Frankly, the main track is boring in the dry-mainly farm tracks. Very steep climbs and descents at times but apart from the views-meh. On the other hand, the 3 enduros! Toughest I have ever tried! Steep shaley climbs, super steep downhills, tough off camber zig zag climbs up hillsides and slippery bogs. I did all three and really enjoyed them, even if a but of bulldogging crept in on the downhills. Only did one lap. That was enough.

Did you still have to park fucking ages from the sign in and walk about 5 km to get there ?

Did a gentle ride up the Waimak to try out my shoulder, about 1/2 the distance and 1/2 the normal speed, did a few km on a Stark Varg, deceptively fast even in 30hp mode and quite cool although suspension needs work

Good to hear. No, we parked in the paddock. Make sure you wash all that filthy electricity off you!

I am getting to the point of doing these rides again. But I have No problem waiting until it is alot warmer and drier, before doing one.

Yeah F5, You don't realise how much you miss doing it until you cannot do one for along time. I don't want to rush, as if I muck myself up badly it will take me along time or ever to do it again.

    All Action Dirt Riding

Thought I'd post here of my dirty activities.

On Sunday I drove up to the Maugas, there's a gravel road from the carpark that stretches about 3kn to a dead end.
I took the Beta down and back a couple of times (any more probably I'd upset the residents into complaining to council and just not to spoil their day). After blagging some gas as it was almost empty, opps.

Anyhoo, I smiled a lot. It was probably a Grade 2 track (Grade 1 being asphalt state highway) , but it felt like progress. I even rode up a mound at the end and through a tiny Creek (to blagging the gas from some kids in other carpark whi refused payment, thanks guys).

An uneven trail would be too advanced but just maybe I will progress and social line (kids) at a Trials by Christmas and see from there hopefully to an easy trail ride.

I've bought a new van. My target is to get down to some rides down there in 2025 or 26.
