Because the Russian report apparently had details, and specifics which may be contested.
The US Oped was a summation of their suspicions ie conclusions - no specifics. Typical, short on detail, assertions they make that are then regarded as fact. Witness McCain's assertions "We know the Syrian Govt. was responsible for the attack". Never mind about waiting for the results of any investigation. His confirmation that the US was involved in supplying arms to the rebels, in contravention of international law, in the sentence after he said they weren't is typical. Careless disregard for the truth and for the rule of law.
If you watch interviews with Putin and US Politicians like McCain and compare them the US dudes don't come out very well imo.
McCain and Kerry come across as Hysterical lying toerags.
Michael Hamilton, the journalist, exposed the use of US PsyOps on US politicians visiting Afghanistan to garner more support for that campaign. One that he said was targetted was McCain.
The way he and Kerry appear to be fixated on Israel and mention that country over and over makes me wonder if the have been brainwashed by agents of Israel. ditto for Obama. The latter two have appeared to do a 180 in their opinions.
Time for these Hawks to step back from their war promotion and try and do something good for the people of America. Creating more and more enemies is not in the best interests of the US citizenry. It appears clear that is not where their loyalty and focus lies.
McCain being caught playing poker on his phone during a crucial senate hearing on whether to take military action in Syria shows his colours. The spin and misinformation that flowed from this expose was insightful and disturbing. Lying is clearly de rigeur.

That video was informative as to the number of airforce bases they have in the States. Apparently for DEFENCE.
I wonder how the Arabs knew there would only be four fighters available to protect all of the North Eastern Sector on Sept.11 and only Rumsfeld could give the rder to engage the hijacked planes and he would be unavailable to do so on Sept 11. ( for part of the time he was outside shifting pieces of aeroplane around the Pentagon lawn.)
Did they have knowledge of these circumstances or was it just an amasing coincidence. Were they thumbing their noses at the base that two of the planes flew over on intersecting flight paths. Were they aware the dept of defense doesn't seem to bother with defence of the US or that it was controlled by bumbling fools.... or was it part of a plot?

No amazing coincidence, just more rubbish.
Prior to 9/11, no western leader was going to give the order to shoot down a civilian airliner.
The hijackers knew that, so the alertness of the US air defense was completely irrelevant.
Even after the first one crashed, the chances of vectoring fighters to the remaining planes (or indeed just finding them) was approaching zero.
Yep. History. Pretty much the same thing as with all the blow-hards who say they'd not have let their plane be hijacked with box cutters. Before then, hijackers tended to go land somewhere and demand prisoners be released or something. The fourth plane didn't hit its target only because the passengers learned what was up and then knew they had to try something - because there was no way out otherwise.
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.
