Red face I'm thinking of plastidipping my Hornet

Hey guys. I've been thinking to Plastidip my Hornet over the summer. Anyone done it on theirs? Recommendations? I heard that the tank gets the most abrasion where your legs rub But i'm thinking to get Silicon side pads for it.
BTW another question is that since my bike is silver, And i'm planning to Black it out with plasti dip which would probably last a year. Do you think it affects the insurance and Rego colour?
    Thanks guys!

Short clip of plastidip. Removable within seconds!

A lot of Americans do it, that or bed liner in a can, could be worth asking on an American site.

Got a PlastiDip thread here if you're curious: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...765-Plasti-Dip

I dabbled with it on the mirrors and stalks, one or two knocks and it does rub off. I'd also probably suggest you play with it on a simple surface first, then something trickier.

I'd probably play with a bit of vinyl around the tank area instead... which I will do shortly on the GSA.

do you have an update gremlin ? on your vinyl attempt ? I just picked mine up and Im going to see how it performs against polyethylene petrol tanks :d I know it will bubble but I want experiment with it a bit first ( like perforating it a bit first like decals are) tried the paint and like everyone else found it doesnt work, let the sun hit your tank and it is all over.
Ill be curious to see how yours goes and if you have any tips ?
    dont break your cake

Nope, don't even have the vinyl yet... it's uh... on the list (ie, lucky if it gets done this year).
