you're often mouthing on about other people putting words other peoples mouths, tell me where I said they're not on KB , and where I said they're ignoring their supporters???
there are many outlets that they could use, they chose to use KB to assist with fundraising and haven't really kept along those lines to report back on how it's going, that's just one outlet of many.
The website is dormant, or has been for months, I peruse the main stream motorcycle mags and can't recall anything there, although I only scoot through them so please don't quote me on that.
NZ Moto have had coverage on their recent EJC cup experiences, but only after it was pointed out to them that they do actually have some sort of obligation to those who gave to their wider fundraising efforts.
The error in my heading for my first post should've contained a question mark, as that's what i meant, and used this forum to see what others have found of their journey What other forum should I have put the question out there on Marcus?

Marcus's quoteAs far as I can tell they send regular reports to both their sponsors and their supporters. fact is as they embarked on a widespread fundraising campaign, rather than solely targeting individual cheques etc from targeted sponsors who may or may not be getting space on their bike leathers etc they don't know who in all cases are and aren't their supporters so while they're sending detailed reports to some sponsors/supporters they're not covering all who helped in some way to get them there...

Actually guys as a GENERIC comment not targetting the guys concerned I'd suggest theres a lot to be learned from the contents of this thread.
It is REALLY important to talk to ALL of your sponsors on a regular basis.letting people know how you are getting on. The highs and the lows.
Every sponsor has a different motivation but one commonality is wanting to be kept in the information loop.
Its also important to make good on your promises and NOT to promise something you can't do.
One crowd i was sponsoring promised something possibly trivial in their eyes.
They diddn't follow up on it or for the matter even keep us informed
So this year Im not sponsoring them again.
I hafta tell you with modern technology there just isn't any excuse for not reporting back.

I can honestly say that this ONE thing is the major barrier for young guys getting sponsorship -sponsors burned by someone else making the same promises AND doing the self same thing themselves.

A grand master of this stuff was Nicko or Nick Odomatt. Whilst we were driving from meeting to meeting he was on the phone reporting to his major sponsors. Then texting others and organising radce reports for everyone else.--Guess who doesn't have problems getting sponsorship?
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?

    For those not on FB...

    Hola Everyone

We are currently in Jerez, Spain for the final round of European Junior Cup this weekend. We've been here for a few days and have had some time to relax and recover for the next race Its a nice old town with lots of old buildings. We've been looking around, taking in some of the culture and going to the beach. Although we have been caught out a few times trying to go to a store in siesta time.

We bumped into Rob Lewis yesterday afternoon just walking around and it turns out that fellow Kiwi competitor Tyler Lincoln (competing this weekend as a wild card) is staying at the same place as us. Small world! We will be getting a few photos this weekend of all the Kiwi riders and their bikes together for the newspapers and magazines

The circuit of Jerez is another new track for Sam, but this wont be an issue as he learns new tracks fast. Sam is hoping to get another top 10 qualifying, as he has done in the last 2 races. We are also looking forward to scoring in the points and making up for the disappointment of the last two rounds. Its been a tough season but we are confident we can finish it off on a high note We will be keeping you up to date over the weekend with summaries of practice, qualifying and the race.

On Monday after the race, we make our way from Jerez up to Madrid to start the long fly back home to New Zealand

Croft Racing would like to thank our sponsors:
White Ribbon New Zealand and Rex Mincher http://whiteribbon.org.nz/
Ian Stronach and the team from MTA http://www.mta.org.nz/,

    Merv Orford from Kiwistars http://www.kiwistars.co.nz/,
Graeme Billington from Autocycle Refinishers http://www.racefairings.co.nz/,
    Mum and dad
And thanks you to all of our individual supporters as well.
It is a massive privilege to be here. Without you or our sponsors, this campaign would not be possible

    Andrew & Sam
    Croft Racing
