How sad, too bad, never mind.

Poor misunderstood Donna Awatere-Huata is going to do jail time, what a shame.
At least her new tax-payer funded figure will be appreciated by the bubbaette she'll have for a cell mate.
I wonder what hubby, Wee Huata will get. He seemed pretty happy with the verdict though, two thumbs up on TV. maybe he's glad to be rid of her too.
Now, if only we could nail the rest of the pollies for their rorts.

I liked the cartoon in The Harold this morning, of Awatere-Huata as medusa.

I'm pleased she got caught out - I was sure it was going to be another case of not enough evidence or whatever.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

I was worried about that too. Glad to see justice done. There is a few others that should join her, like the silk underwear buyer.

I am pleased with the outcome of this too. I was more upset by the Huata's attempts to pervert the course of justice than I was with the fraud. They are very naughty people.

She deserved to be sent to jail for that appalling hairstyle - my god, even Tina Turner did it better than her! One commentator said it was a style that should not be seen on females over the age of 12!

I liked Prebble's comment too, that she'd be back in a few years time, complete with new hairstyle, ready to do it again.

I'm surprised they didn't play the Maori bashing card though. I did have my doubts they would have enough evidence, especially when I found the chief prosecution witness had been done for fraud and later admitted she'd got away with even more than they did her for!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

I think a hell of a lot of Maori would like to bash her themselves.

Could have had a lot of mana if she had played it straight and been a much needed role model.

Oh well, just as well I'm perfect, now, where did I put those stones...

I'm just waiting for the news that she will be appealing (no, not THAT way. Sicko). This woman & her husband have made careers out of spending on themselves what isn't theirs to spend. They have become very clever at doing this (whole defence used Legal Aid) so does anyone think this little 'glitch' will stop them?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Slight spelling error methinks! Surely you meant "appalling"! I can't believe they got legal aid; now they have been convicted I feel they should have to pay that back.

They will return, and no doubt they will rip someone else off when they do. She had it all, but greed is a powerful thing. Glad they got caught!

With a bit of luck the courts will order all their assets sold to pay for the reperations.

I thought she looked a lot like Michael Jackson while on trial.
