Hey, just as a point of interest, I remember ages ago when Act first kicked her out, they were trying to get her out of parliment before some deadline passed that would mean she got some sort of lifetime MP priviledges - does anyone know if they succeeded in the end? Or are we still "sponsoring" her for flights, etc? (not that she will be taking advantage of those while in jail - thank fuck).

Hey - Shes an easy target and did a really stupid thing but... Don't forget that she/they also did a lot of genuinely good and clever stuff as well... They just got a bit greedy and started to believe the BS.

We are all made of the same stuff folks. We are all humans and should not be too smug because often, there but for the grace of god....

    Cheers

The only clever stuff they did involved lining their own pockets with tax payer money. Makes you wonder how much they got away with that hasn't been uncovered.

Rest easily, Taxpayer. She was outted in time. She did not pass "go" and did not collect $200.

Nah. Leave it there. That way she'll be cheaper to run in prison.

    Arrow Good job.

Double the cows sentance because of the fact she was flogging money intended for kids. Plus the total lack of morals displayed at the trial. Does she think that we are all that stoopid? Lying about it wont help and many of us know that is all she is doing. I guess thats one arsehole that will not return to politics. Oh and if she'd used they money of a bike, I could understand. But using it to stop being a fat tart? LOL, where she is going I bet it all returns. So she'll be a stoopid fat tart with a total lack of morals....

Con artists are very convincing and pleasant people, as some of these posts show.
    Still stole from kids though.

I just read something in the paper about her first day in prison. Got up, ate two Weetbix and toast for breakfast, walked past other inmates who shouted something about her stealing from Maori children, went to her cell and cried. Only got two sammies for lunch as she is not working. Had 'not-diet-friendly' meal of pie and fried mashed potato balls for dinner, then locked back in her cell.

    Everybody say "aaww!"

Whether or not she ever did any good in her life before being found out as a thief is irrelevant. She succumbed to temptation and greed and now has to pay for it.

The reading programme she introduced is fantastic for reluctant readers-its a real shame that outright greed got in the way of something that could have made a real difference to kids in our schools. I have no sympathy for her but am sad for all the kids that will miss out - real sad that a heap of them are kids of her own race too. Don't understand how people can do that to kids.
