Unless they looked close enough at the engine case to read the "649cc" or whatever, no one's gonna bother you.
Oh my god. Someone finally gets it. Thank you sir.........

Strange how reggie sticker shows NXD650 - something must have happened somewhere

Happy for you to share your knowledge on the matter
Just do it Murray. Best mod was the race tech cartridge emulators, 2nd best mod more cubes. Normally I love cubes as much as the next guy, but the emulators blow me away every time I get on. Sooooooo smooth.

I've been stopped at wof checkpoints "whilst on the way to a certification meeting" and never had an issue.

Come on people, last time I checked we're still kiwis. What's with the nanny state bullshit?

It's simply fair to point out (admit) to potential buyers that "getting away with it" is not the same as being legal.

(Seen the same thing on TradeMe with a guy selling a GSX250 that had had the 400 in it. (In the pre-LAMS days). It was one thing to claim learners "could" ride it, because it was still registered as a 250. But it was really a straight out LIE to say it was actually legal. It's not nanny state stuff, just honesty to the buyer. Let them make the decision with full facts.)

Edit: 'cause I want to avoid bump if possible ...

It'd be fair to note that while he's still playing the "you can get away with it" card, he's admitted it's not LAMs compliant in his auction comments section ...

Question: Hi is this LAMS approved?

Answer: Not with the 650, but if you're keen I could put the 400 back in. It would take a couple of weeks though. Its still registered as a standard GB400, so if the new owner wanted to leave it that way and use it as a lams bike, thats completely up to them. Externally the XR650 and GB400 motor are virtually identical, so you'd have to have a pretty good eye to pick the modification.
Gosh I like members who join KB only to sell a bike.

No, they fucken aren't! The bike is modified.

"Current WOF (Photo of clean WOF sheet attached) and Reg on hold"

Was the wof done prior to the motor transplant or summat? I don't see any pictures of the cert for the repower.

Wasting your time? I prefer to think, I'm saving some poor learner a shit load of their time instead.

No, I'm not a genuine buyer. The thing is over priced for what it is too!

    +1.
Listed claiming its lams when its not. The rules are clear. No performance modifications are accepted on the Lams list.

You cant join a motorbike forum and try and mislead future or present motorcyclists without getting a negative reaction.
I have evolved as a KB member. Now nothing I say should be taken seriously.

I'm a learner and i think they should be aware of these kind of acts.. trust me.. a hell lot of people don't even know anything about motorcycles.. you tell them its LAMS and they will believe you and get it if it attracts them.

So the GB has sold. Not to a wide eyed learner that should be afraid of a dirt bike engined road bike capable of an eye watering 50hp (GASP) that will kill anyone at the slightests hint of throttle, but to a true lover of modified things mechanical.

To all you time wasters and nay sayers - thanks for your valued input - you're keeping NZ as a backwards, yokel loving piece of proverbial at the bottom of the pacific. Well done I say, now fuck off to australia.........

The whole process on KB has made me a bit sad actually. To me, Horace is the epitomy of everything that made kiwiland great.

If you don't get it, try having another think.

Or maybe get a book from the library, read it, then have one more think.

Hahahahaha, I'm responsible for all that? I'll have to make a note of how important I am.

Or maybe, you could have another think. About the misleading line in the ad, and the legality of such maybe?
