Changed the gearing to 12/45 for a trail ride tomorrow, would be slightly lower than ur 13/47... Seems to go like a raped ape in the dirt now, power wheelies in 2nd and still gets over 100kph nicly.

Got the Piralli Mt21 on the front Mich AC 10 rear feels a good setup.
if u do more trail rides over winter the AC10 is not so good in the real muddy rides. I used them on a Brittens waikato rides then changed to Piralli Scorpion X(F/R) way better on and off road not a Dot rated tyre if that matters.

Have u done anything with your suspension?

Yea the AC10 is on its last legs will look into the scorpion.

Nothing done on suspension.. Think the soft front contributed to the broken spokes in the weekend.

Did wonder if that's was the case my WR tried to get me a few times before we did the suspension normally the lack of damping in the rear shock. Wayne at Blackwoods did both ends on my WR Completely different bike.

Thats true mate, A mate has them and loves em. I use a TCK80 front and Shinko 700 rear for adv (good wear), so just thinking of the others for trail only duties really.

Whatever you get will be a compromise just as a trail bike is a compromise, thats why you don't see hardly any registered bikes at trail rides. Its just not worth the hassle.
If you want to ride(slow and steady) to a trail ride and ride all the sections then a Kenda 760 would be the most economical yet aggressive tyre for your wr.
Pirelli mt43 trials on the rear is another option but not so good on wet grass and mud.
Personally I think you can learn a lot and have fun riding a more trail bias tyre just let some pressure out but if you really have the off road bug then save for a bike/trailer/car.
